Nov 28th: Ladies School

Post by Christine Grice »

It's that time of the year again!

The registration for the Ladies school is now open:
http://tinyurl.com/ybdaqd2" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

As in the past, all instructors are female, most with National Championship experience. This event is specifically geared toward getting new ladies into the sport. A low pressure, relaxed environment. Any men accompanying their lady will be expected to work the event and be prohibited from "helping" beyond being a pit boy!!

Get your entries to Renee ASAP!

With just 4 days till the practice the flier still says "More info will be available soon..."

Since this is typically mostly attended by new comers, who will probably await all info, as my next door neighbor is...

What more info will be provided? How far in front of the event will it be made available for those awaiting the "more info" before pulling the trigger? Will you be taking walk ups since this awaited info is making mail delivery VERY tight at this point?

And before someone jumps on my back... I'm responding for my neighbor who's VERY interested in attending.... but needs everything before she drops it in her husbands lap that she's taking his Mini!

The flyer looks pretty complete to me now.

If you are signed up for the Ladies' School please post a reply in this thread. At the moment we do not have access to the pre-registration list and we need to know the participant count to plan for supplies.

Thank you!

I think all the info is there. Take keys from husband, show up by 8 AM, drive all day.

Does she have any specific questions?

Consider this her confirmation. Please tell her to bring payment to the event.

Don't worry about the check. If for some reason it didn't make it we'll let you know. Just make sure Sherry is there so she can enjoy the day. She'll have a blast.

I sent in a check last week, hopefully you guys have already received it.
I will need to borrow a helmet. I do have some questions ...

What time will registration/tech start? What will the schedule look like on Sat for work/run, etc.?
Is lunch included? What do we need to bring besides water, sunscreen, hat, and a chair?

I haven't been to the venue, and it seems pretty big. Where will we be set up at?

Thanks!

For location, see the aaa speedway map at http://solo2.com/maps.asp" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; It has pretty good instructions on how to get in and where to go.
I believe tech/registration open at 7am. The driver's meeting is at 8am.

Scroll down past the "freeway" map - I didn't realize there was now a map of the Ca Speedway venue below it, until recently

Thanks KJ . . . Grace here. I mailed my check on Monday, Nov. 23rd. Instead of paying another $15 for the weekend reg fee though, can I just register and pay the full amount to become a member? See everyone this Sat!

Make sure your tires have at least 35 psi air in them ... then will further inflate as the tire gets warm. You don't want to have a low tire like the front driver side tire in this photo:
