SCCA process on classifying new car(s)???
Does anyone know the process that SCCA uses to classify new car(s)? I tried Doug Gill before the National, and I totally understood that everyone was busy with National. However, I also emailed him after the National, and it's been a few months since, but still no news from the Fastrak. Should I send a request to the SAC as well?

New Stock classings are generally given a soft 12-month deal where they can be moved after their initial classing without the whole big rules process.
Initial class placements are based on the wisdom and judgement of the Stock Advisory Committee. They collect what information they have available about the vehicle's performance along with any anecdotal experience from people having driven them. Lots of other factors weigh in like the cost and availability of the car, their perception on how popular it will be with the membership, etc.
Some cars don't make it to any Stock class and go straight to ASP.

Non-classed cars got to ASP for national events, but I think it says to run them in SS for regional events.Jason Rhoades wrote: Some cars don't make it to any Stock class and go straight to ASP.
Try the NOC listings, that'll usually catch you somewhere.

Sending your e-mail to the SEB (a) will create a log entry that is returned to you in acknowledgment, (b) will submit the message to the SEB and (c) will forward it to the appropriate AC as well.
In other words, the SAC already has it. Sit tight. There's a lot being worked on right now (see your latest SportsCar Magazine and Fastrack publications) and the SEB is working hard on the 2010 rule book to publish it on-line very soon.

It's the 2010 Audi S4. Someone on SCCAForums said that it may fall into the new B-Stock.Craig Naylor wrote:What car specifically are you wondering about?

Did you write Doug directly or did you write to seb@scca.com?

I emailed Doug directly before the National, and again after the National. I received a response from him on my first email, but not the second time.Mike Simanyi wrote:Did you write Doug directly or did you write to seb@scca.com?

seb@scca.com is the correct place to send all classification requests. At this point it'll probably just be in the new rule book that comes out online in a bit over a week.Vincent Wong wrote:I emailed Doug directly before the National, and again after the National.
