Where to get wheel repaired

Post by Theo O. »

Can anyone recommend somewhere to get one of my wheels repaired? It has a bend and a hairline crack, still holds air.

Thanks.

1800 fix a rim. Had some racing beat three piece wheels they did for me that came out great. Resealed/repainted and polished. They're based out of the valley.

Straightening and painting is one thing, or actually two things :D , but I'd be a little leery about that crack Theo.

Thanks Dan.

George, yes I'm concerned about that crack, I've been looking for a replacement with no luck. I'm hoping the repair people can tell me if it's not safe to repair it.

We use Custom Wheel Refinishing for our touring car wheels that get a little mangled. They are in North Hollywood. 818-764-7679

Let us know how they balance & then how they feel when driving. I had one repaired that involved welding / grinding etc. It looked great, but took a LOT of weight & never felt right on the car. Hope yours comes out better than mine did.

Here's one more place in Orange County. Al Reed has been doing this in So Cal for about 30-40 yrs. Longer than anybody. The national porchse club guys send their wheels to him for repair. Penske used him for refinishing back in the 90's when they raced at the Long Beach Grand Prix.

Bob, wheel came back great, couldn't tell that it was repaired. Drove on it to and back from ProSolo in Utah with no issues.

I've been sending my customers to Al for years, does an amazing job. Mike S just had a set done for his M coupe by Al.

Any idea how much for a polish cleaning on a set of wheels?

Can one have alu wheels polished to the bare metal ... and then what? Do they need to be clear coated or can one just leave as is. Wax?

I think our CCW's Vette wheels are just polished aluminum. Love that look. Could one do that to a set of oem Z06 wheels?
