Dunlap Star Spec now a tire rack exclusive?

My Discount Tire guy says he CAN'T get them anymore, only Tire Rack can sell them.

He got them for me & bought from TR.

If that's true and it's not a matter of Dunlop not extending credit to a supplier, than my guess is the tire is on the way out. Either something new is coming or??? but the remaining production has gone to one supplier because it's easier on the manufactures distribution channel.

It's a Yes, and No.

When I shopped my set, word I received from more than one store contacted, Goodyear Tire required the purchase of an entire container of each of the new sizes to order any the new sizes. Apparently no one (even at the distributor level, at least in So Cal) other than Tire Rack, was willing to front that kind of money. The rep at Tire Rack, confirmed they had to buy a container worth, which is why it only existed at the (Indiana?) warehouse, and I had to have them shipped from there.
