While we wait for the flatbed ...
Crazy ... Just dropped off the Miata at Steve L to get the clutch replaced. Stopped @ Knotsberry for a chicken lunch. Come out and the Vette won't stay running!!! The Suby is @ Timmons having it's engine rebuilt for the 2nd time in a year. Question, what type of mule should we buy?
... or bicycles?
Bad luck runs in threes, correct?

Re: While we wait for the flatbed ...
We disconnect the battery to reset the ecu, but we're still in some type of limp mode. Pulled the codes - we're in a "reduced power" situation. Car wants 2 die when we give it gas. Not hearing any vacuum hoses.
Plenty of fuel .
Worried that we're going to get into one of those Vette searching for a Short! Have it flat bedded home or to Coast Corvette close by, or ? We've got the shop manual at home ...

How does one clear the codes. We wrote them down, after video taping them in HD w/ my iPhone4.

Re: While we wait for the flatbed ...
Found on internet. At least it sounds familiar.Mako Koiwai wrote:How does one clear the codes. We wrote them down, after video taping them in HD w/ my iPhone4.
1. Turn the key to the ON position, but don't start the engine.
2. Clear any messages displayed on the DIC by pressing the RESET button.
3. Hold the OPTIONS button down and press the FUEL button 4 times. The computer will automatically display all the codes it has created. It will cycle through each code every 3 seconds.
Note any code that ends in H is a history code indicating something that has occured in the past but is fine now.
Once the computer has finished going through all of the codes, press RESET to enter the manual configuration mode. It will start with a module and show "NO CODES" or '#CODES".
To clear the errors, once in manual mode, press and hold RESET until it displays "NO CODES". Press OPTIONS to go the next module. Repeat this step until you reset the codes in all the computer modules. Only reset the codes if you want to. It is not nessary to do this.

Apparently I, "fastest button pusher in the West," TM H. Bjoin, deleted the relevant codes, leaving only the "H"'ones.

Honda Ruckus! 90+MPG FTW! They make fun pit bikes too. Assuming you can fit it in the Previa.

What did they hook onto to hold down the car? An oil cooler line?!?!?Mako Koiwai wrote:Now we're stuck on the fwy! Or, are you sure it's oil... could it break fluid? Maybe they hooked the a-arm and in the process got a break line?

Hooked into the four vette tie down spots, but an xtra hook to the chain going 2 the front tie downs. Big hook right near the oil drain and close to the oil filter, but filter looks OK. Hook next 2 oil drain is wet w/ oil.

Re: While we wait for the flatbed ...
Based on that description and the fact that there is nothing but subframe near the oil drain plug, I am going to state the obvious: That doesn't look good.Mako Koiwai wrote:Hooked into the four vette tie down spots, but an xtra hook to the chain going 2 the front tie downs. They admitted the hook should have been point down - bump could have caused oil pan puncture

Re: While we wait for the flatbed ...
H = history code. Not a current condition. Personally, I clear history codes just to make it easier to read them using the DIC (see Christine's post). The code meanings can be found on the web by googling "C5 Corvette Trouble Codes"by Mako Koiwai on 28 Jul 2010 13:32
Weird, ALL the codes have an "H" behind them!

A few minutes later, going up the 5, a car pulls up to us honking it's horn ... "Your Leaking Oil!"
We pull over ...
We pull over ...
