This year we will be entering the site at gate 41 (?), further to the north into the paddock area.
There will be a tire cleaning area (wet skidpad) available for a small fee.

Cool,
Cool, no more congestion issues with support vehicle parking and the gate at the west course.Eric Clements wrote:This year we will be entering the site at gate 41 (?), further to the north into the paddock area.

Indeed I do... I did enter my AAA number in though, so maybe that helped. I just booked a two bed room from 9/2 - 9/9 for $119 a night.Aaron Goldsmith wrote:Max says the Embassy is back down to 119.

Re: Questions for Nationals in Lincoln
Is it safe to say that if my Run Days for my group are Tues/Wed and I do not need to attend the Ceremony, that I could leave that Wed? I'm being realistic since my car is not competitive with the Mini or Mazda 3 or Taco truck
Why would I need to stay Thurs/Friday?
Looking to book a room...
Thx.

Re: Questions for Nationals in Lincoln
Banquet for Tues/Wed is Wednesday night. It's the biggest one since you have the Tu/W and Th/F folks both attending. I've stuck around in the past for Th/Fri since it's pretty much my vacation and you really only have a chance to watch and support people on the days you aren't running. Most folks do take off.Michael Smith wrote:Is it safe to say that if my Run Days for my group are Tues/Wed and I do not need to attend the Ceremony, that I could leave that Wed? Thanks Aaron! I see it now. Another question... they show the menu and stated Cash Bar, but is the food free? Or do we have to buy a food ticket somewhere?Aaron Goldsmith wrote: Banquet for Tues/Wed is Wednesday night. It's the biggest one since you have the Tu/W and Th/F folks both attending. Re: Questions for Nationals in Lincoln
Ticket is included for the driver.
Stacey wants to fly out Wednesday night after running STXL.... I'm trying to talk her out of that plan. She'd have to make Omaha for a 6:30 flight. I don't think you can guarantee that without knowing the run order and we won't know that in time. Stupid job.

Re: Questions for Nationals in Lincoln
Michael,
I think it does seem kinda nice to be at the banquet to support everyone and put a finish on the events. The banquets are not just for the winners.
But... I can certainly understand leaving early too. I almost always try to stick around for the trophy presentation at ProSolos, but left early this Wendover so I could be back home before midnight.
The banquets are a mixture of hanging out with your friends.... mediocre banquet food.... some ceremony and then people leaving early once they (or their class) gets their trophies. So I can see deciding either way. If I wanted to get home Wednesday night, I would not think twice about missing it. But flying out is normally easier in the morning anyway (since it is later there) so if you are in town... attend.
They normally offer or sell the extra ticket for the banquet you did not run.

You can usually scrounge a ticket from someone who's leaving early. Just ask around.Randy Chase wrote:Michael,

Re: 2010 TireRack Solo National Championships - Sep 7th-10th
I'm running Thu/Fri and it looks like I'll have to try and catch the 7:30pm flight out of Omaha on Friday night instead of leaving on Saturday. Run/work order hasn't been posted yet. Do you think this is realistic? What do I need to be aware of or make an allowance for?
Anybody leaving for the Omaha airport on Friday that I might be able to carpool with?

I would say that is impossible. It means u need to be at the airport by 6 at the latest to return the rental . It takes at least 1 hour to get from Lincoln to Omaha. and if you run or work last you are totally and utterly SCREWED !
