Video featuring the New JackDeflectionDataAcq. device in conjunction with the HD GoPro. Total failure! If you want Data Acquisition, go with the ChaseCam systems.

(GoPro "Open" back with fake fur taped to it ... to muffle wind noise)

GoPro Helmet Cam video ... set to Spot Metering ... when it should have probably been left on Center Weighted Metering, and the camera should have been tilted further up! :(

(Which is why I'm starting to like the DRIFT Cam with it's built-in Monitor for framing the shot. But GoPro should have their clip-on monitor coming out at the beginning of the year.)

1st (56.810) and 4th (55.798) runs - didn't hit the start button hard enough on runs #2 (55.707) and 3, so no video there. D'oh.

So far the little wireless Remote On/Off device has been working great for turning on the DRIFT cam

Here is Robert's second best run. 71.xxx We couldn't get to him in time to hit the camera button on the fastest run. :(
Robert turned 7 last week. He and Bijan are the current FJC karters. Those are 2hp 50cc Comer engines with spec gears and tire diameters to limit top speed. In other words MUCH slower than the FJB karts. Still the little ones do pretty good. The video camera is an GoHeroHD set on wide angle 720P mounted to the helmet. Be sure to select 720P on You tube and blow it up full screen. Quality is pretty good. Sound is fine.

Here is my hack driving on display. :( 55.293 Good for third in ST until that rude :mrt: Jason Flores comes in on his last lap with a 55.292. ;) Again select 720P.

That's it ... didn't shoot much during yesterday's last run group while I supported Karen. Too bad no one else availed themselves to the Makofoto Communal Cam ...

Total failure in what way? Video link showed no data at all. Did it fail to function or did it provide poor quality data?

The JackDeflectionDataAcq, aka the Jack in the Box Analog Bobbly Thingy needs to have it's stem/spring re calibrated for solo use, while the ChaseCam works out of the box :D

Can you take a pic of your camera/fake fur setup, so I can get an idea of what you did? There's no wind noise at oll, even with the open back. Awesome!

Vincent: Sounds like the sound recording is pretty decent with the camera inside that car. Did you turn down the Mic sensitivity on the DRIFT cam ?

Sorta funny, if you spin after the finish and don't hit any cones it doesn't effect your run, as opposed to spining on course and givng up time.

It wasn't too bad. I had the mic sensitivity set at medium. I'll try high at the next event (which will be a track day). Hope it won't pick up too much wind noise.

Hopefully your Fotki Xmas orders will arrive in time ... our internet's been acting up (because of the rain?) and I've been having problems uploading large files for printing. :(
