Gripper then A6's but softer sidewalls, from what I heard. 6 sizes should hopefully be released soon

Not really a question, Prices are available on their website. They cost about the same. If they are faster people will buy them, contingency or not.

I have run a number of goodyear tires, admittedly all street and never found one I liked or that lasted. You don't exactly see them dominating any series where they aren't the mandated tires, and the biggest question each week in NASCAR is if the tires will hold together.

I seem to remember you nursing a set of Hoosiers that were pretty worn, wasnt moving up a position or two worth maybe 2 or 3 sets during the season

Not really a question, Prices are available on their website. They cost about the same. If they are faster people will buy them, contingency or not.

I don't expect they are going to be magically faster, and if they are of course everyone will move and create parity. However since the Kumho vs. Hoosier debate seems to have swung more on contingency than performance, (despite several threads on different boards no one presented hard data from back to back testing of the brands) I think this will be similar.

You need to look harder. Goodyear is very competitive with Hoosier in Club Racing, any class that uses actual racing slicks (GT, Prod, open wheel) and they have the resources to build a very fast tire.

At the PHX race I was at two weeks ago the winning T1 Corvette was on Goodyear (as was the winning HP Yaris).

Not saying the aren't competitve but for a company that once competed in F1, they don't come close to dominating. Would love to see them do well, but worry about a company who's race tire brochure refers to sidewall styling? Good to have another source especially with the trouble some people had finding Kumho's at the end of last year.

The club blogs I see on the good years all report fast, but wear like butter. Guess it depends on your budget. Moot for me, I don't have to worry about being too fast, I haven't got anyone to run against.

Don't confuse marketing with engineering.

Outside of Solo Hoosiers does not dominate the market, and I would contribute a lot of that to the other manufacturers walking away. Any time Kumho, BFG or others have a had a presence they were competitive - there was a time when Hoosier was second fiddle to Kumho. It all goes in cycles.

I have not seen any wear on the cars we have equipped with the RS that gives me concerns, but we are using the RC version. Based on the conversation we had with GY at PHX I would not expect what you see people testing right now (the AC version) to be the finished product. They are aware of the April cutoff for Solo, and are still tweaking.

Undoubtedly if GY can raise the bar Hoosier will answer, only time will tell.

Goodyear wants to have a significant presence in Solo. They had a crew at Nationals last year. One of them was stationed under the results tent writing down results as they came in. He said they were working on contingency and a Solo specific compound....

Something to look forward to. Although if I had really paid attention to the lack of competition I was going to have in BSP, I might not have loaded up on R-comps no matter how fun they are and run street tires in CST. For this year I am set, will have to re-evaluate for next year.
