I know - phishing attack. Just delete. I changed the password, so hopefully it will stop. I'm switching to Gmail permanently!

Just do as I do ... create a Rule (Apple Mail) that anything from Max goes into my Junk Folder

I had something similar happen with my yahoo email account a few months ago. I'm also very careful and am always on the lookout for phishing scams yet they somehow got my password. I changed my password and the spamming stopped but now I always have to enter my password twice as I always unthinkingly enter the old one before I remember I changed it.
