More FJB Questions

Post by Kurt Rahn »

A few more questions:

1) Are ribvests required for FJB? If so, is there some minimum sanctioning body approval I need to get (like Snell for helmets)?

2) I have a Yamaha KT100 engine. What's the recommended fuel/oil ratio? Do I just use regular 87 octane pump gas?

3) Is there some more comprehensive listing of what's legal to run in FJ (like tire compounds, drivetrain components, etc.)? I must be missing it, but I don't see much in the 2011 Solo Rules, other than eligible engines.

Oversteer is better than understeer because you don't see the tree you're hitting.

Not required for Solo. I think many kart orgs require a chest protector, but not many a rib protector. Ribs are pretty high up on the injury potential though. I have a 4XS rib protector that turned out WAY too big for my son, I'll sell it at a loss if you want it.

Kurt, just make one thread. Don't need a new one for every question.

Have you even read Chapter 19 of the rule book? Nine pages that cover what you're asking for.

You're right; I guess I never made it past Section A for some reason.
