FJB Ride for 3/19 and 20?

Post by Kurt Rahn »

Well, the kart's gotten the better of me. There are a few issues that are over my head to fix, so I'm going to have Eric have a look at it this weekend.

Unfortunately that means that Maddie is out of a ride this weekend. Would anyone be interested in letting her share kart time on the dedicated kid kart track? I'm not really worried about the champ at this point (and logistics with multi drivers probably make it a no-go), but I'd really like to get her some seat time. We'll definitely pitch in for consumables.

This probably doesn't help you...
But Will is bringing Zane and Cyan's old FJC kart down - it's Finn's birthday present...
Unfortunately, Finn has some previous commitments this weekend which will mean he won't be running it much if at all.

If she fits, she's more than welcome to drive it all she wants.

Thanks for the offer, Robert. Much appreciated. I'm pretty sure an FJC kart won't fit her, unfortunately. Last time she tried one, she tested its straight-line top speed, then the speed scrubbing properties of the sagebrush and silt.

Its possible she might fit in Finn's kart. I just got back from the Rahn's picking up Maddy's non-running kart to deliver it to Eric Clements (that sucker is HUGE BTW!). Maddy is a super sweet kid, diving in to help load the kart. She is so eager to try out karting. I really hope we can manage to get her some laps across the contingent there. I'd say she's about 56" tall. About an 1" to 1.5" taller than Robert and Cyan. I seem to remember Robert's legs fitting better in Finn's kart than his own for some reason. I think there is something wonky about the steering wheel angle on our kart.

She's welcome to run our FJB kart on the kid course. Can't help with the champ with two drivers already.

Cool. Thanks, guys! I'll take whatever I can get. I just want to get her a few laps to see if she thinks its fun or decides she'd rather clean her room. I figure as little as 5-10 laps will be enough to get her hooked if she's into it.
