THANK YOU all NO$ helpers for a fun event...

Post by Mark DeShon »

It's past my bedtime but can't sleep after what has been a very fun weekend at the track! Lot's of people worked extra hard to make this event happen, and run smoothly. So thank you to...

-First of all, Renee: For organizing this mess and putting the right people in the right places. You always made sure the job got done. All in all it ran very well! Everybody got 4 runs, and we even got done early! :gpower:

-All my helpers on course setup: Mike Simanyi for putting in two late nights help me massage the course and achieve the flow I was after. I couldn't do it without you. Also, Mike Kazmierczak, Steve Towers, Arthur Grant, John Fendel, Byron Goodman (hope I didn't forget anyone) for helping me setup Friday into the darkness.

-Arthur Grant again: Any time any job needed to be done, large or small, Arthur was there, ready and willing. And he's not even a No$ member. He really personified the volunteerism spirit that keeps this club running and great. BTW, you forgot your tow strap, Art. ;)

-Mike Yanasi: For making sure we had good worker coverage on a difficult course to cover. This was not an easy job, and he worked hard at it. The results showed in a rather invisible way (the best way in this case).

There are many many more NO$ and non-NO$ members who worked hard, I'm sure, but these are the ones I saw. Thanks to all. And finally, a personally thank you for everybody's input on the course, positive and negative to help me make it better. Much appreciated! Best weekend I've had the the track in a long time. :D
Mark D.

P.S. Thanks to whoever took the initiative to clean my truck's windshield on Sunday.

Mark, thanks for the best course I have ever run. I didn't drive it well but enjoyed the heck out of it.

Couldn't see out the window, was an act of self preservation.

Great job on your first course, Mark! I had a blast! Great job to Renee and the rest of the No$ gang too, for a very well-run event!

I'd like to add my appreciation for Mark's efforts as well. I bet he slept well Sunday evening.

The course was great! Heard nothing but good things from a substantial number of people.

Mark was a servant all weekend. Other than designing the course, I saw him marking the cones himself, using the blower, instructing others, and then smacking the course himself with a 69.639 in STX for a Top 25 in PAX (#7 and #24 are mysteriously missing).

Well done, young man. Us old guys appreciate all the enthusiasm and energy you expended.

I'll look forward to the next DeShon-designed course!

Thank you No $ members for making my job easy. A big thank you to Mark De Shon for a spectacular course. I really enjoyed driving it on Sunday.

A big thank you to Mike Yanase who was there for 2 days getting workers on course both days; Yuki Haneda who worked registration both days; Cat Tran who brought donuts, ice and worked the gate both days and didn't even run; Joy Wheaton for doing whatever needed to be done; Brian Howlett and his crew for working tech both days; Tetsu Fukui & Terence Chang for volunteering whenever there was a need and last, but not least, Jonathon Hartendorp for being my whipping "boy" - he was always there to lend a hand even packing up the trailer.

If I missed anyone, I apologize, but at my age I guess that's acceptable. Thanks again to everyone for making this a great weekend.

When I exclude classes from PAX results (TO and X), while it doesn't show them, it leaves gaps in the numbering where they would be. An apparent "upgrade" a few software updates ago.

Whipping "Boy"??? More like "Court Jester" especially with all the joking around at Registration and throughout the whole day!

You're most welcome Renee, glad to be of help anytime....I had tons of fun!

Besides that, it was a great event and great balls-out course! Kudos to Mark DeShon for it's design and execution.
