Miata NA Extension Top Hats & Koni Yellows

Post by Mako Koiwai »

Haven't decided on a price yet ... Koni Yellows off of the Ex-Philip Royle ITA Miata and extension top hats for a NA Miata. They will NOT fit a NB ... they're a bit too wide for the NB openings. 700/325 lb springs

The oem top that are on the struts right now are from me try to see if I could fit them on our NB. I was missing one top nut but have found it now.

John is thinking about putting these struts on a wifey '95 Miata. Anyone know if we can adapt oem springs to them. I've got a set of oem springs, so that John wouldn't have to but softer small ID springs for these perches.

Just an FYI, those are not standard "off the shelf" Koni Sports... That is a Koni "Race" set, they have shorter bodies and are valved stiffer.

I have some front NA konis and would be interested in the race valve and shortened versions. Maybe we can make a round robin on this. Mako let me know what you are asking for the shocks with and without hats and with and without collars and springs. Thanks

Hmmm, per Philip "Bone stock. Nothing special about them."

I assumed we were talking about Yellow Sports, not Racing?

Steve, make an offer

If those are the Race model, they will be awfully stiff for stock springs on a street car.

To use stock springs, remove the threaded collars and install the original metal spring cup and circlip that came with the shocks. Also, you need to use the rubber insulators that came with the stock springs.

Yes, they are stock, stock Racing series Konis. Who would use an off the shelf Sport for racing when Koni offers a Race application for the Miata?
