Looking for someone with a Sparco Evo 2 or 3 seat

Post by Bobby Beyer »

Looking for someone with an Evo 2 or 3 seat that is willing to let me sit in it.

You wont need a 3, it is about the size of your average loveseat. Even the newer Evo 2 is big, you can probably fit in a standard Evo. They usually have them in the showroom right down the street from your office.

Also consider the Sparco Fighter, since you don't need an FIA seat for Solo.
The OMP TRS is also a good budget seat - and it has both side and bottom mount holes, making installation easy.

I'm not so worried about budget as I am about fitment and comfort.

I've only really sat in a Corbeau something a Sparco Milano and Pro 2000. I could fit in the Milano and Corbeau but I didn't fit very well in the Pro 2000. The fighter is also on my list of seats along with some other brands of seats as well.

WOW! you weren't kidding when you said the EVO 3 was a loveseat yikes. I'm not a small guy by any means but that seat was really loose on me.

So can anyone out there comment on the overall craftsmanship between the Fighter or the EVO 2 US? I like both of them but I'm not sure if the Evo is worth the extra money or not.

I had the Fighter in my RX-8. It is closer to the standard Evo in size, basically the same materials and finish. I mounted it on sliders, and would take the cushions out for autocrossing - the seat was a little high with a helmet on, and like the Evo it did not have great lateral support, pulling the cushions at events fixed that.

Bobby, have you ever considered a Momo? I can get one a great price. I liked how the Supercup felt. PM me, I will tell you more.

I ended up buying a Sparco Fighter because it was the most comfortable seat I've sat in so far.

Momo was on my list along with Recaro but Sparco was preferred for me since I get the sponsor price, and they are right next to my office and have given my company some pretty amazing support.

Hey, it makes a lot more difference in your car than in ours. We took 15+ lbs just out of seat bracketry last year. Still over the minimum 25 lbs (barely) before anyone gets up in arms.

Yeah I just hit the minimum 25lbs with 2 giant aluminum spacer blocks. BTW bottom mount seats suck to install.
