You're correct George, but check out the thread! The site in Lincoln is something like 175 acreas. It's HUGE. And it's a possible site for Nationals.George Schilling wrote:That course looks like fun and is perfectly shaped for our lot at AAA Speedway...........

What's painful is looking at HPT and realizing that two courses have to fit there.... Yeah yeah... No grid or paddock, but still.... Two courses in the little sandbox.

There's no truth to the rumor that the entire city of Topeka could fit on the Lincoln Airport ramp.

Re: Muhahahahahahahah! (Lincoln, Ne)
Yea, you could set up six events at once and get 1/2 a season in one weekend.Mike Simanyi wrote:I like Christine's 6x overlay of the Green Lot on Lincoln. Hawt!

Or 10 cars on course at once (max the timer can handle) on a 4 minute course! Of course you could only have 2 run groups in order to have enough workers.

Re: Muhahahahahahahah! (Lincoln, Ne)
Howard is driving there this weekend to see the site in action and see how the surface reacts after having sat all these years. It looks promising. The size of the site is old news. What I was referring to was the course they will be running this weekend. I think it would be a GREAT course to duplicate on our lot.Mike Simanyi wrote:You're correct George, but check out the thread! The site in Lincoln is something like 175 acreas. It's HUGE. Re: Muhahahahahahahah! (Lincoln, Ne)
Were I not working this weekend, I'd be there as well. It's only a 3+ hour drive from Topeka.
Damn, I hate having to work weekends. And make my schedule months in advance.
This event wasn't on anyone's radar prior to the Solo Nationals. And they weren't using this space prior to about two weeks ago (the Nebraska region was using a small portion at the north end between hangars). The possibility of hosting the Solo Nationals has literally opened up the whole space to Solo (with the exception of the NW edge, which is part of the UN crash test program).

Re: Muhahahahahahahah! (Lincoln, Ne)
While the event site might be huge, it sounds like it might have the same problems that every concrete, hasn't been run on forever surface has: sand/rock, unpredictible grip and excessive tire wear...

I would pay extra entry fees for some seasoning to be done. Send Jesus V. and the rest to drag stuff around. If they can make it like Atwater, I'm moving to Nebraska...Go Corn Huskers!

Re: Muhahahahahahahah! (Lincoln, Ne)
It's Go Huskers or Go Big Red.
That part of the site is like Wendover. Blythville is more like El Toro or Atwater. Both sites could use some "work".
