Re: If you race you need AAA Premium Membership!
I've learned something. Last week, after my little incident, I called and upgraded my AAA membership from Classic to Premier. It cost like $35 for me and the wife (our renewal is in May). But here is what I learned. New members can only get the Classic. In order to qualify for an upgrade to Plus or ...

Re: I guess this is goodbye...
Ramin, I spoke to "Subaru Steve" about your deal. He suggested contacting Subaru of America regarding you situation. He has seen it happen where they will do some type of split of the repairs. It doesnt cost anything to try. Let me know if you would like some help on this deal. Tom Tom, t...

Re: I guess this is goodbye...
Thanks to every one of you for your advice, rest assured I am considering all of it very seriously. Tom D., I live in Signal Hill. I know about Pete's rebuild. In fact this is one main reason I'm afraid of "settling" for a rebuild. Who's to say I go through all that, save a couple grand as...

I would have to agree based on my experience... Well, it did run great while it ran but sheesh, so fragile. Or maybe, doomed to failure from the start?Tom Denham wrote:the latest 2.5l are junk.

Re: I guess this is goodbye...
Thanks for all the replies. No, as far as I know there isn't a hole in my motor. Apparently they just dropped the oil pan, found bearing material, and concluded new long block, and maybe new turbo. I don't have any pics - I'm told the motor is still in the car. The reason I'm leaning toward having i...

Re: I guess this is goodbye...
I'm typically not one to accept defeat on an issue like this. I assume they denied warranty coverage. What was the reason? They say they found evidence of a tuning device on my car, via a control number mismatch on the ECU. This is true but the car was running stock tune, as required in STU, and th...

I guess this is goodbye...
I want to thank everyone who made my 1 year of autocross so much fun. As some of you know, I spun a bearing in my 08 STI during the last event. Subaru googled me and found me on this forum, and promptly denied any warranty coverage. So, I have a car that has been meticulously maintained for 46000 mi...

It was a good novice class this year, for sure. I had a great time. Who knows, once Subaru puts my motor back together, I may be back.

Hey Art, I DNF'd at exactly the same spot on my first run too. Boy I really liked that section of the course though, there was a lesson in it for me as far as paying more attention during course walks and keeping my eyes up while driving.

Mako, go to my.subaru.com and enter in and backdate an oil change in the service history section. Then print it out and take it to them.

How to become a contingency sponsor?
I work for a Fortune 500 company that is interested in becoming a contingency sponsor. At this point we don't know much about the topic - we just know we have a brand we'd like to promote to amateur racers (SCCA and others). We have made no determinations as to the scope of the program, the budget, ...
