Cheap H-F Aluminum Jack Reg. $99.99, $59.99 w/ coupon
Here's the Harbor Freight coupon, good through Monday: http://widgets.harborfreight.com/wswidgets/common/displayCoupon.do?week=2111&campaign=b&page=feature.html&single=true&cust=78067359544&keycode=1002 The regular 20% off coupons aren't valid on floor jacks, so this is a pretty ...

Re: WTB/WT Borrow A/C Manifold Gauge, vacuum pump
Have you tried calling your local Kragen/Autozone/Pep boys to see if they have free tool rental for those? Yep... Seems as though they don't rent/loan them out any more. I'm guessing it's a new EPA thing. I think I'm going to bite the bullet and just buy the H-F stuff. It's still cheaper than takin...

Re: Is it better to use the clutch for quick 1st-2nd gearchanges
What the title says... Basically after blowing my transmission I talk to a few people about it and one of the things that I heard was that damping the clutch during a 1st-2nd gear change can be worse than just lifting off the throttle and changing 1st to 2nd. Does the above statement hold any water...

A/C Repair
Anyone here know of a decent shop for A/C repair? I'm pretty sure that it's just a simple o-ring replace/evac/recharge job on my Subie. The A/C was working fine a few months ago, ice cold. Now the blower just blows ambient temp air. The compressor isn't engaging, probably due to low refrigerant char...

I have a set of 225/45/17 V710s. They're a bit old, but they're round!
Details here: viewtopic.php?f=8&t=5154" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
BTW, you'll be hard pressed to find a 225/40/17; it's a very odd size.

Very funny. I keep getting DMV notices about toll road violations with it. He apparently hasn't registered it yet and I don't have his contact information anymore. I sent my copy of the release of liability to the DMV, but apparently they never received it or didn't record it or something... Should...

Hmmmm.... Can one car run different tire brands for different drivers in the same class at a pro? if you can change tires REALLY fast.. though I think contingency is checked in impound so it'd be whatever the second driver ran. I remember the contingency folk checking cars in grid too... I may cons...

Temple City Motorsports on Rosemead, south of Las Tunas and north of lower Azusa? I bought some Motul (smells like roses!) for my bike there. I think their 5-gallon "utility jugs" were $30. Might be cheaper at Jegs or Summit.Steve Ekstrand wrote:I think there is a Yamaha dealer on Rosemead.

Where to get my flywheel resurfaced?
Hey everyone, After some practice launches on Saturday, my clutch decided to give up (slipping just a bit in 5th on the freeway). So it's time for another clutch job. I think I'm going to do it myself this time. Anyways, the only part of the puzzle that I can't figure out is where to take my flywhee...

Re: What can you tell me about KW Variant 3 coilovers?
I run them on my STX WRX. They off-the-shelf spring rates are a bit soft for auto-x (in my application at least), with 8kg-mm front and ~6kg-mm rear (progressive) springs. They're not bad for daily driving (which I do with my car). The range of damping adjustment is noticeable, but I have yet to pro...

Re: Man Charged $2,300 For A Tank Of Gas
I'm surprised he didn't complain about the $0.45 fee to use your ATM card at Arco. On a lighter note, I put $12 in the machine at Arco and had to get $1.50 in change. I guess there's still 3/8 of a gallon in my tank when the gas light comes on. I don't know why motorcycle manufacturers don't like pu...

Re: Who balances their autox tires
Since I actually drive to and from events on the same set of tires, I have my tires balanced when mounted ($10 for mount and road force balance). They always tend to go out of balance after a year of use. each or all four? haha... $10/ea. I wish it was $10 for all four!!! I'd try different tires ev...
