There is a WHOLE LOT MORE to SP than R-Comps when comparing STU.

CSP tougher than BSP.

Right. Think about it. A better suspensioned, higher HP & tq., nearly the same weight (+100 lbs?) than my car, the S2000, gets SLAUGHTERED by the Evo, and BSP has a lower PAX?!

RR is smoking crack (sorry Rick, I know you read this board, but you got this one wrong). Make CSP higher, in relation to AM, but put it ahead, and that far ahead of BSP? No. That close to ASP? No. And 0.003 behind DP?! I run the same engine as I have now (not even bother to up by 30-50 hp by going to a full-blown DP motor), I put in a roll bar, I run nearly the same weight, except I rearrange it in a MAJOR way (to my benefit) I run SLICKS, and I only have to run 0.18 on a 60 SEC. COURSE faster to beat my CSP PAX???!!! Rick, you can't be serious.

Look at "best of breed". And ASP? Did you not look @ Ken's results this year here?! The totally non-Corvette friendly East course @ HPT?! I know he didn't come out that much, but please - you've got a real good opportunity here in CalClub, Rick; the best BSP driver/car in the country, the best ASP driver/car in the country, then take a look how they do against a top CSP driver/car (They go faster, Rick. And in Ken's case, wayyy faster) - it's real simple. :roll: (not to mention BS, CS and top performers in AS and STU).

Got this one wrong.

I like mine too much to take a Sawzall to it. Therefore, I went to GP and cleaned up one wreck out of the backyard. You probably could do the same, you must have at least one old SS sitting around awaiting the saw, sledge hammer, and torch.

When I bought the '91 i figured I could run it for 10-12 years and be competitive. It lasted a little longer. Unfortunately I can't afford a tow vehicle and trailer so the Z28 would have to go to ESP and stay with the smog so National events will be for fun only. The new SS comes only with 20" tires so stock is out and that leaves ESP for it. Now if I could only win the lotto... :D

There's something about this I do not understand, STX and STU, I get to run against all-wheel drive cars on restricted tire sizes and the PAX is harder than FS. OH, I get it, I get to trick out a mustang, put whatever ST allows and still get to run against all-wheel drive cars with 245's or 275's "street" tires. If it is a good idea the world is sure keeping it a secret, of the 72 cars at Nationals there was a grand total of 0 American made iron.

There are no FS cars in LA or San Diego--only a very few on the west coast--with the addition of the "special" mustangs, the SCCA got what it wanted a faster FS class and in effect eliminated every other older Mustang, Camaro, or Firebird from serious competition.

A couple people tried it on the East coast with not to good results. :( Several people pushed the Shellby with SCCA and they got it. IMHO the Shellby should have gone to BS. FS has gone from .809 to .833 in two years because of it.

Got this one wrong.
I think RR did look at calclub results. the "less then" best car in CSP has beaten the "best" car in BSP on raw time about 50/50 this year. Scale your local performance by roughly your performance at nationals and i think you would end up pretty close to the new CSP index (just doing the math in my head). I'm not saying it's right, but i can see the math backing it up.

Imagine Tom's car with 150lbs less weight, better suspension geometry and 75+ more hp. this year we'd only have to go .14 per 60 faster to match the 08 SM index. Looks like that got "fixed" for 09 also.

Also, i'm very glad that Jason U. isn't bringing his s2k out to lincoln. He would likely kill us more then he would have killed us at this years nationals. wait Jason doesn't check these forums does he? }:)

FS has also seen its best numbers in years thanks to the Shelby. imho without it, FS as you knew it would be gone. I think all of FS would have moved into BS without the Shelby, the numbers were a joke - and FS has not had big numbers on the west coast in over 10 years. It was a dying class.

FS has been strong on the other coast. FS had 30+ at Nationals will only a couple West FS cars. 08 had 27. Some were tried being beat by old dinosuars. Only dinos now are in ES.

Oh, stop! :cry:

I talked with Rick about this last year, and his response was he was not "ready" to make CSP faster than BSP. Sounds like he saw the light!
Although, to be truthful, I told him the problem there would go away if he moved BSP up to where it really belonged (based on exactly one overachieving BSP car in the country).

then you haven't been paying attention to the results for the 2nd half of the season after upgrading your diff(s)!

Scale your local performance by roughly your performance at nationals

the unique opportunity we have here is that we DON'T have to base it on one race on an F-ed up surface, on short courses.

and i think you would end up pretty close to the new CSP index (just doing the math in my head). I'm not saying it's right, but i can see the math backing it up.

And forgetting the East course, did you not see Ken's results on the few times that he showed up?! He CRUSHED.

Again, let me put it this way: I go to DP and I only have to find 0.18 secs. on 60 secs. course?! Trust me, I can find a lot more than that (no offense to Keith and the other great DP drivers).

CSP was soft last year after the 275s came out, no doubt - and that was taken care of last Nov. But BSP and ASP were damn fast this year too. And to say I have to go faster than Tom, and be that close to Ken to out PAX them?! Look, I know they are GREAT drivers, but I don't suck THAT much! :D Wait, forget that last sentence.
