On shorter tighter courses, are people using shorter tires on their S2000's and Boxsters?
I was surprised to hear that Sean was using tires up to 2" shorter on his Elise ... no wonder he didn't think there was much difference in torque between his car and Chad's Exige ... he's got near instant VTech.

Any of the factory option wheels are legal, which includes the various 19s they offer. Tire diameters are better in the 18" sizes tho and with the tall gearing, I'd probably be running 18s over the 19s on those cars.Jack Tsou wrote:Are those big 19" 911 wheels legal to run on the Caymans?

Not to mention more unsprung weight and more expensive rubber with 19".Jason Uyeda wrote:Any of the factory wheels are legal, which includes the various 19s they offer. Oversteer is better than understeer because you don't see the tree you're hitting.

That is not what Mazda told me but then again, most of the stuff they say is complete B.S.Jason Isley BS RX8 wrote:Only the engine internals and case get the 100k warranty. Cool thing is, if you buy a used one you are covered by Mazda eight years or 100,000 miles on the drivetrain.

Who said that, the dealer?Jamie Lessie wrote:

From MNAO:
All Mazdas come with a roadside assistance program. With a call to a toll-free number, owners can access roadside assistance 24 hours a day, 365 days a year throughout the United States and Canada. In addition, a comprehensive three-year/36,000-mile warranty covers every part on the vehicle except those subject to normal wear. Also, all models receive a five-year/60,000 mile powertrain warranty and a five-year/unlimited-mileage corrosion warranty. In addition, warranty coverage for the RX-8 includes extended coverage of the rotary engine to eight years/ 100,000 miles (whichever comes first).

I find they are very useful items to have when educating your service advisor on what is covered. ;) But in four years of ownership we have had to make very few trips to the dealer.

Excuse my mistake. Thanks for correcting me

It is a great car and I really do like it. What it has over the s2k is the ability to hold 4 people. When you drive a two seater long enough, as much as you like the car you sometimes wish it could hold another person or two.
