I think most everyone, with a stuck throttle, would turn off the car.

I didn't have a stuck throttle, but I was driving a '77 VW Rabbit at Lone Pine when the little clip that connects the secondary throttle plate to the primary fell off, letting the secondary throttle plate go wide open. At first, I thought that the brakes sucked at the end of one of the straightaways, but when I got around the corner, I realized that something was wrong and shut the car off and let it roll to the stop off to the side of the runway.
