Championship Events

Post by Arthur Grant »

Looking at the result sheet it shows we have completed 8 of 12 events, however there are 6 more championships on the schedule? Doesn't the season run January to December? Are there two events in the remaining 6 that don't count? Inquiring minds want to know.

Nope, not nearly that complicated... I use an excel spreadsheet to calculate the points. I built in the capacity for 13 events, you just can't see the last one cause I hide it. So if we end up running a 14th event, I'll just need to add that to the spreadsheet. ;)

The number of events that we drop from the year end points is still controlled by rule 7.6 in our supp regs. Except you run novice, so your number of drops per year is covered in Appendix A.

Looks like it will be 14 events (based on the current schedule)
APPENDIX D
CSCC Solo Number of Drops Index
Number of Events Number of Drops
1 to 3 ----------0
4 to 6 ----------1
7 to 10--------- 2
11 to 13 -------3
14 to 16 -------4
17 and up -----5
Which means I have updating to do to my spreadsheet since I only have 3 drops built in right now...

Thanks Christine. I assume at the end of the year I can drop my DNS and two no entry events. Need to keep all the points I can.

Keep in mind you're running in novice class - per the supplemental regulations, only your six best results count.

Well there goes my strategy of bludgeoning the points by running more events.

You can still run more events to get better results... which we are sure you will ;)
No, Mako -- you do NOT need to supercharge your new Miata! ...cuz now it's my turn to take it to the track :)
hmmmm... it is no longer "new" -- is it time to get faster?

Well my intent is to run all the remaining events, although I question the sanity of running Fontana in August. My hope is to raise my average, but I have found it's hard to match points. As long as I personally get better I will be happy.
