The changes to 7.4 and 7.9 (re-runs) don't really seem to change much about how CSCC (or just about any other club) does things. Mostly they just seem to emphasize the need to not be too slow when you slowly complete the course.

Change 7.9.2 to read as follows:
“7.9.2 Displaced or Downed Pylons on Course
A competitor encountering a downed or displaced pylon on course has the option of continuing the run or stopping
as soon as possible, and pointing out the downed or displaced pylon to a course worker. If the competitor stops,
he or she must proceed off course and will then be granted a rerun. However, if the competitor completes the run,
the time will stand.”

In conjunction with the above, change 7.4 to read as follows:
“7.4 RERUNS
Reruns will be granted only for timing failure, object on the course, or red flag, and will not be given because
of mechanical or other failure of the competitor’s car. A minimum of five minutes must have elapsed before a
competitor may take a rerun.
Pylon penalties are not carried over to the rerun. A DNF on a run for which a rerun would have been given shall
stand and no reruns shall be given.
In the case in which a competitor is red flagged or stops for a downed or displaced cone on the course, the
competitor may continue slowly through the remainder of the course, or may exit the course directly, and will
be granted a rerun if appropriate. Failure to exit the remainder of the course at an appropriately reduced speed
(generally 70-80% of competition speed) will result in a DNF for that run. It is important to clear the course in a
timely manner in order to avoid impeding the progress of the car following, and to ensure the event remains on
schedule.”

This seems to be inconsistent.
7.9.2 says "must proceed off course" if you stop for a "downed or displaced pylon",
but 7.4 says "may continue slowly through the remainder of the course, or may exit the course directly" if red flagged or stops for a "downed or displaced cone".

or maybe the key here is that there is one rule for a downed or displaced pylon and another for a cone? }:)

BTW, not much better in the 2010 rules:

competitor may continue slowly through the remainder of the course,
or may exit the course directly, and will be granted a rerun if appropriate.
Failure to exit the remainder of the course at an appropriate speed
(generally 25-30 mph) will result in a DNF for that run. It is important
to clear the course in a timely manner to ensure the event remains on
schedule.
Reruns for downed cones after the timing fi nish line will only be given at
the discretion of the Chief Steward.

The intent is to drive on the defined course at a reduced speed. I can understand the interpretations though. Stay tuned...

The things that jumped out where things like BMW M3 (E46, E36) moving from BSP to CSP (along with the Mazda RX-8).

Yeah, that was one of the proposals listed as "tabled".

Under ST rules

C. Tires must have a minimum UTQG tread wear rating of 140 and a minimum molded tread depth of greater than
7/32”, as manufactured.

With the existing 140 wear rating rule, and an exclusion list possible... whats the point of adding a minimum tread depth as manufactured, when shaving is not disallowed?

Palero also has good eyes for boxes with no cones in them too bad most dident have any cones to start with!!! =)

Is this a section we have to follow? Basically means you have to red flag all cars on course as a slow moving car along the outside of the course would almost always be considered a safety hazard. People can often point out down/out cones without impacting following cars.

It's if the competitor completes the run without stopping. The wording is confusing, the "However" is saying what happens if the previous sentence isn't followed.
